Penfield Womens SS14 Collection

Penfield are one of my favourite brands, with a combination of smart clothes and hiking chic. A lifestyle brand that offers anything from clothes to mugs and bits of rope on a keyring, they are now offering their biggest line of womenswear so far.

Matching Hawaiian prints, t-shirts with bears on (cute!), lightweight jackets and accessories in bold colours make up this collection perfectly for the SS season. Accessories in the line feature bucket hats, caps, visors, belts, new silhouette of backpack and new patterns, iPad cases and wash bags.

DKNY Urban Sport AW 14/15

I know I don't usually blog about luxury brands, however, I needed to do a post about DKNY's Autumn/Winter 14/15 collection, just shown at NYFW. Donna Karan's diffusion label kept itself associated with it's target audience by sending local DJ's, artists and students down the runway in place of models. Straight cut silhouettes teamed with black New Era caps also encapsulated New York's urban creativity. The main colours throughout were monochrome, with flashes of pink, deep reds, midnight blue and grey. Textures, such as fur and lace, were also seen on pieces such as dresses and outerwear. Patterns such as plaid, houndstooth, zebra print and stripes teamed with monochrome basics and platform sneakers.

I've always felt a sense of familiarity to this brand ever since I was little. I remember watching Absolutely Fabulous with my mum and seeing Edina Monsoon wearing a black t-shirt with DKNY in massive letters across the front. I love to see how they evolve from season to season yet stay true to their very 90's persona through the use of logos and relaxed, sports styling.
